Laos’ flag carrier Lao Airlines, chooses iPort DCS for optimal passenger and aircraft handling
29 Jun 2020
Utrecht, The Netherlands; Langley, UK, and Vientiane, Laos
Res2, the Netherlands-based airline IT company; Travelport, a technology company serving the global travel industry, and Laos’ national airline, Lao Airlines, announce today they entered an agreement to roll out iPort DCS throughout the airport network of Lao Airlines. IPort DCS will be used to support and optimize both passenger handling and load control at the entire airport network of Lao Airlines, from large airport hubs in South-East-Asia to smaller regional airports with limited infrastructure.
Lao Airlines has selected iPort DCS as it offers the best total cost of ownership of a DCS in the industry.
“Being the national carrier, connecting Laos to the world, Lao Airlines requires a reliable partner that can support our operations in our entire network. iPort DCS has the capabilities to serve in all our stations while offering the required functionality a full-service carrier needs. It eases our mind to have a one-stop-shop for departure control, including airport connectivity, deployment, operational and security messaging. Implementing iPort DCS enables us to act cost-conscious, an asset in turbulent times for the industry after the Corona pandemic.”
- Mr. Khamla Phommavanh, CEO at Lao Airlines
“We are excited to support Lao Airlines in their operations and to expand our activities in Asia further. We look forward to work as a true partner to optimize the airlines operations and to accommodate the airlines digital transformation to ensure a smooth passenger experience.” – Mr Hans van Engelen, CEO at Res2
“As the industry looks to recovery, it is especially critical for airlines to enhance capabilities across their networks to ensure a seamless experience for travellers. We’re pleased to support our partners Res2 and Lao Airlines through its growth and expansion and look forward to a bright future with the optimizations gained with iPort DCS.” - Mr Cormac Reilly, VP & Global Head of Travel Partners – Solutions at Travelport
